This was not an easy transaction.
I was in one location. My wife was in another both in a different state than the home we were purchasing. Maria had to juggle a lot of balls to bring this deal to a successful conclusion. She handled all the details and when things got messy with the escrow company she went to bat for us. She got us refunds for work not complete and pushed the deal through. We got the home we wanted at the price we wanted to pay, all thanks to Maria Richards!

After retiring and moving from our home of 40 years we decided to settle in Palm Desert. It was very important to find someone with experience in the area who had a great reputation. When we met Maria for the first time we knew we had met that person. She was extremely personal, made us feel at ease and we knew she would find our perfect home. We spent two days with Maria visiting a number of homes in the area. She made sure we got a taste of the various communities and once she knew what our desires were she honed her attention to our specific wants. After finding the house we wanted she worked diligently to make it happen. She was always just a phone call away. Always responding to all of our questions and needs. We cannot say enough about Maria and her professionalism. Without her we would never have found our forever home.

From the first call through the end of the process and after, Maria Richards was truly awesome. We were out of state buyers coming in to find and ultimately purchase a home. Maria took the time to help us narrow down a list of homes we could look at, she was very flexible with our very short window of time we had given we had flown in just for the weekend and she went above and beyond what I would expect from a realtor. She helped us do things like home inspections and remedies as we were out of state during that part of the process. Another thing I found really refreshing is that she actually gave us her opinion on houses, areas of town, things to avoid, etc which is rare. My wife and I have moved around quite a bit in our adult lives. We’ve bought and sold our primary residence 10 times over the past 25 years so we’ve had some experience with realtors.

For our 11th purchase, we were very fortunate to find Maria. She was representing a HUD foreclosure home in a beautiful neighborhood with everything we were looking for. We’d never bid on a house before or had any experience with a foreclosed home. Maria helped us navigate the ‘system’ and was able to give us the guidance and support we needed to win the bid and then to move through the process to a success close.

It was a delight to work with her through the entire process. From the moment we shared our search criteria with her to the moment she handed us the keys to our new home, Maria was full of compassion, drive, and professionalism. Maria always offered to go “the extra mile” for us. When we couldn’t be in the area, she did everything for us from overseeing inspection + contractor estimates – to – measuring the dimensions of rooms – to – unlocking gates to transition utilities. She was also very flexible around our busy schedules, talking us through important decisions late at night and on weekends.
On the financial side, Maria was an excellent negotiator and able to get us our dream home 5% under the asking price with the home having at least 2 other offers. As an engineer, I appreciated how Maria looked into the value of homes at levels deeper that square footage. I trusted her completely once she shared how she did valuations.
We are a young couple taking a big leap, but Maria always put our best interests ahead of business. She gave us honest advice about different neighborhoods, craftsmanship of the homes, seasonal culture, and recommended the best places to eat!
